Restaurants in Santiago are making a difference. They hooked up with the Make-a-wish Foundation and their gastronomical incitative called Wish Dish 2018 in order to make more wishes come true for Chilean children.
If you haven’t heard of the Make-a-wish Foundation yet, it’s a non-profit organization founded in the United States that arranges experiences described as “wishes” to children with life-threatening medical conditions. They currently operate in 48 countries and in Chile, they have granted more than 1,200 wishes since 1996.
The Make-a-wish Foundation Chile has announced their 2018 list of restaurants that will be participating in their Wish Dish 2018 during the month of August. 30 restaurants and counting will feature a special plate from their menu and will donate a percentage of those earnings towards the Make-a-wish Foundation. You just have to go out like you normally for a meal, but now you’ll know that a little piece of that is going towards helping a child in Chile. Warm feelings in your heart yet?
Restaurants like La Tasca Altamar will offer their “Panqueque de Camaron” dish (shrimp pancakes), which has been on the menu for 36 years and is a house favorite.
La Fuente Reina, a spot well-known for their open-door policy for kids will offer two ítems on their menu. The “Papas Supremas”, which is basically the perfect food to share and their “M” burger that will be a challenge on its own to finish.
Matarello will offer a lunch special Monday-Friday with their “italianizate” menu. You pick one of four kinds of pasta, with one of six kinds of sauces, plus a dessert for $5,990 CLP. The possibilities are endless.
