So do we! This week in Santiago, The Urbano Barrio Arte Festival will be adding color the heart of Santiago. Five murals will be created throughout the week along with different activities in the area such as live music and tours of the neighborhoods between Lasstarria and Parque Forrestal. This initiative was created by Barrio Arte, organized by MAC, MNBA, GAM, MAVI and sponsored by Tuborg, the Danish beer brand.

What’s going on?

At the Metro Station Bellas Artes, you’ll find Chilean Artists Inti Castro and Alejandro “Mono” González, painting large-format murals right at the exit. Another mural will be painted by Francisco Maturana on the side of an apartment building at Calle Mosqueto 456. Then just up the road at Calle Merced 386, the Peruvian artist Jade Rivera is given 100 square meters to create his piece. The fourth space, by the Uruguayan Fitz (Florencia Duran) and T.H.E.I.C. (Camilo Núñez) of Liquefied Collective, will be located at Coronel Santiago Bueras  142.

The fifth and most interactive piece will be located along the parking lot of the GAM in Villavicencio Street and lead by Chilean artist Stfi. Anyone can come up and be a part of the festival and paint together with Stfi.

The artist were carefully selected by Esteban Barrera of Galería Lira together with Francisco Brugnoli (MAC), Roberto Farriol (MNBA), Felipe Mella (GAM) and María Irene Alcalde (MAVI)
